How to type the new Indian Currency Rupee Symbol from your keyboard


Recently, India released the new Rupee symbol & I think each one of us Indians are excited and
curious to know how to use this new symbol in our Electronic life. Today, here I will show you a unique way on how to type this new Indian Currency Symbol using your keyboard while from a laptop or a desktop. So you don't have to wait for a new standard Indian keyboard.

A Mangalore based company Foradian Technologies Pvt Ltd. has introduced a new font called the 'Rupee_Foradian' that allows you to type the new symbol in your computer.

Just follow the simple steps below on how to do it:

  • Download the new font file (.tff file, 59.2 KB) from here.
  • Go to the folder 'C:\Windows\Fonts' & Paste the downloaded .ttf file there.
  • Now its done, just open 'MS Word', select 'Rupee_Foradian' font from the dropdown list of fonts & type the key just above the 'Tab key' of your keyboard i.e. the '~' key.
It will display the new Indian Currency Rupee symbol.
